He focused on her. “Oh my love,” the limb she had released came up and brushed her face, “my naiad of the forest.” And he kissed her then, gently on the nose. “We are so connected. You and I and the forest, we are all bound together.”
“But when I join you, I will be with you always?” She asked with a gasp, gazing into his eyes.
And a smile spread over his face, resembling the crack in a trunk. “Yes, my love, we are fated tied together with destiny and fate.” He was still brushing her, her hair, her chin, her arms. “I am yours, and you are mine, I will be for eternity.”
“And how will I be? How will it feel?” she breathed, closing her eyes, feeling the goosebumps run up and down her arm.
“You will change, it has already begun,” and he brought a bit of hair forward and showed her the strands—tiny branches, “There is no stopping it now.” Their eyes met, and for a second he was worried. “You do understand my love?” and she nodded and smiled.
