At the back door, she opened it and strode outside. She closed it quickly behind her. She hadn’t heard anything but knew it was only a matter of minutes till Dania sent someone in after her. She ran to the fence. Adara hoped there were no cameras, though Adara figured there probably were several. She did her best to walk without looking around as if she belonged and behaved normally.
There was a second gate in the fence surrounding the hangers, besides the one they came through with the limo. Unfortunately, the entrance to the second gate wasn’t coded and was only large enough for people or motorcycles. She set off towards it, imagining every sound was someone yelling her name. But the locked bathroom door had to buy her some time, and Marshall had promised to help too.
She came to the gate and went through it. She turned in the direction she knew Dean had parked. She knew she could see him now, or his car, if she looked. But Adara didn’t want to draw attention to herself. She kept looking straight ahead as if she had no emotions.
Suddenly the mustang came into her line of sight. Her heart raced. She could see Dean’s head too as he stood by his door, facing the plane. Then Adara did something she had never done before. She went to the passenger door, put her hand on the doorknob, and pulled.
The door handle gave to her tug, and the door opened. She didn’t look towards Dean. She didn’t want to risk any movement or motion that might show up on cameras. She quickly got into the car pulling the door shut behind her.
