The Day the Skyfel: Shadows of the Past

Slowly she woke up. He was beside her on the couch shaking her. “You’re not listening!” His voice was loud and accusing.
“Yes, yes I was.” She lied.
“So, are you with me, will you join me in this new world?” He said, forgetting his last sentence.
“What?” She asked, confused. She had missed a lot.
“You were not listening. You need to listen to me; I want you to listen.” He was holding onto her arm, and it hurt. “I can be a king, I can rule, and you can be my consort. All you must do is obey me. We can be rich. You are perfect. You are quiet; you are innocent. I can teach you everything I know.” He was inches away from her face, his breath smelled of alcohol. His eyes shone brightly. There was power, evil, and madness in those eyes.
Sophia knew then what had been watching and waiting for her in that house. It had been him. She was afraid now, terrified. She had to get out. She had to get away from him. She felt so tired, though, so exhausted.
“Well?” He was shaking her now. “What’s your answer?”
“I think I need to go now,” she whispered.
“Go? Where can you go?” He laughed and she felt cold. “Get up, go on; I dare you.” He pulled her to her feet and let her go. She took a step and fell. She was so tired. Sleep. She wanted to sleep. She looked up at him. He was so far up there, high, and mighty, and so much stronger than herself.
He laughed again. “You’re stuck here, Sophia, whether you like it or not.” He bent down to her eye level. His eyes were steely, and he was not smiling. “Is that your answer? Is it no? Well, you can say no but you are still mine. You cannot leave. I would still like a yes. You can change your mind. I will be gentle with you, I promise. But if you say no….” He shrugged and grabbed both her arms. He pulled her up roughly and pushed her down on the couch.
