“And who is this.” He pointed at Ana after Leo put his wallet away.
“This is my lover and future wife. I will be marrying her as soon as the divorce is final.” Leo announced, pulling Ana closer with both arms.
Ana glanced up at the mention of marriage. She looked up at Leo, and a smile played on her lips. At least they were dying together. Leo could have abandoned her at any time. But he was here by her side. Leo sensed her gaze. He met her eyes, smiled, and kissed the top of her head.
The security guard studied the pair for a moment. Leo was sure they were seconds from death. Finally, the man pointed. “I need to make a phone call. You two follow me.” He led them to an empty desk in the back right corner of the lobby near the stairs.
Leo’s heart sank. Another delay, and it was already nine. And if the man were going to try to get ahold of Julianne or Madeline, they could be there for hours waiting. But he obeyed and followed the man. He briefly wondered if there was a way to get him in a room alone and kill him the way he had destroyed Madeline
The man led them to the desk and motioned to a single chair. “Go ahead, one of you sit.” And he picked up a landline phone receiver and pushed a few keys.
Leo glanced at the chair and frowned. But then he smirked. He had an idea. He was going about this the wrong way. Ana looked frightened, and he looked anxious. If they were lovers, they should be all over each other. He pulled Ana to the chair, sat, and pulled her down on his lap. She gave him a look of surprise but allowed him to position her on his lap.
“Play along.” He whispered in her ear. And he kissed her ear, ran his lips across her cheek, and kissed her again. He closed his eyes and moaned, “oh baby.” He softly mumbled his lips on hers.
