Day the Skyfel: Aftersickness

Josh relaxed. When he saw her eyes open. He didn’t want to keep calling her name. One more slip and he would be saying it. She met his eyes. “Raven, you have my sleeve.” He looked down, hoping her eyes could follow.

Raven was surprised to find him still so close. But her surprise turned to sadness. He wasn’t the one she had given herself to. He was only the man who was helping her now. She met his eyes and heard what he had said.  then he had looked away and she had followed his eyes. She stared at her hands. They were gripping his shirt tightly, a few knuckles were turning white.

She felt a little  sheepish. She attempted to release her hands and found it hurt her physically to let go. Not only that she had felt just a little bit better emotionally with his shirt in her fingers and his arm around her. An overwhelming sadness washed over her. As her fingers left his clothes and his arm left her side and he moved away she found herself suddenly crying.

Josh was settling back into a sitting position when he heard the soft sob. He turned in surprise and found Raven crying. “Hey.” He spoke “what’s wrong? Don’t cry. Please Don’t  cry.” He couldn’t think why she was crying. He had told her there was no sign of blood, and she had removed her fingers from his shirt, and he had stopped touching her. She couldn’t be crying over that. Could she?

As Raven tried to stop crying. But her shoulders continued to shake she tried to turn her face away. But with the shaking she nearly toppled backwards. She made a half gasp half sob sound and tried to stop herself.
