Non-existent

“So I am human.” She was disappointed. She loved him somehow. A deep aching longing that was growing stronger by the moment. But how could a God love a human?

“No, my love, You are my goddess. My Rajanani” the name sent shivers down her spine. It was like the feeling of desire, love, and home. His voice was a soft breeze floating through the air.

“That is my true name?” she gasped. She remembered now, writing the “RA J” on the wall.

“Yes my love.” He was touching her hair now. “You will slowly turn over the next few days. The humans will stop noticing you and your hair will turn to branches and leaves and your skin will thicken and your blood will thin and turn green.  And finally, on your 18th birthday you can return to me.  Then you will no longer be human. You will be as me..” His voice sounded like the puffy clouds moving overhead. .

Jinna  Closed her eyes and sighed. Goosebumps ran up and down her arm. She wondered. What would it feel like to be like him? Would she still feel the sensation she was feeling now? But right now felt so good. It felt like her destiny.

“My love” he Whispered into her ear. And then his hand touched her cheek. I’ve missed you so much. I lay dormant for several years. I couldn’t bear to live without you. It was only when You began to leave your house. When I could watch you from afar that I woke up and now In the last few years, as you approach the age I have been straying out of our forest to peek in at you at night.” His hand brushed her chin. “The Human custom of sleeping indoors is so strange. But you are so beautiful and I miss you so much. You are mine. We will soon be together. Oh Rajanani!” He said her name in a breathless whisper. His hand was leading his arm around her back now. He was pulling her closer to him. She opened her eyes. His smooth wooden face was so close. Her heart was pounding in her ears.
