“Moment by Moment”
She was going crazy. That was why there was a Justin. Justin was just a figure of her imagination, wasn’t he? He didn’t seem to exist anywhere else except to appear to her when she was alone. When she saw him, he was always alone. Why? Did he have a family or any friends? Or was he just a dream or a fantasy, a product of imagination? That was it she was losing her mind.
Her mom was shifting the topic again. She was saying something about their neighbors. She was talking about Sharon Macqueen. No, she was not talking about her. She was talking about her tenant. She was saying. “That is him, don’t you think?” She had ceased walking and was gazing back the way they had come. “Look, Kathy, the one with the baseball cap.” She pointed.
Katherine swiveled to follow her gaze. “Where?” She asked immediately.
“There!” Her mom answered.
Katherine could see several guys with baseball caps. But one had the hat yanked incredibly low over his face. Now she sighted him; he was strolling past a store. As she stared, he ducked into the store, fleeing her sight. But she had a vague feeling of a familiar face, the color of the hair, the build. It was all familiar to her because she saw so much of it in the last few days. Her abdomen felt upset. At that moment, the pieces in her mind clicked into place. As they did so, her mom snapped her fingers together.
“I’ve got it. His name is Justin Wade.” Katherine put her right hand over her stomach and gripped her shirt into the palm of her hand as it closed into a fist. She was trying to calm her insides from the exterior. It didn’t help. Her ears were humming now. She gulped and turned away.

“Open the Door, Let the Sun In”
She was still shaking, but the tears had stopped. She wasn’t looking at Darren anymore. Darren had more questions. “Lea, is the baby okay?” he asked softly.
Lea turned to him with wide eyes. He was asking about the baby. Not Blake’s baby, Darren’s baby. Could she tell him now? She could speak it aloud directly to him. What had Darren asked? Was it okay? She hadn’t even gone to an appointment with the OB doctor yet. “I don’t know, and there hasn’t been any bleeding.”
“When do you see a doctor?” Darren looked again, down towards her belly. He wanted to touch her belly to see if he could feel anything. But he was still afraid to touch her too much and needed to ask her if she would leave with him.
She swallowed, closing her eyes, trying to remember. “I have an appointment this Thursday.” Her eyes popped open.
“Does Blake know the place and time?” Darren inquired.
She shook her head. “I told him once, but not the day, time, and address.” Lea explained.
“Does he hit you?” Darren asked; he looked towards the ceiling. He was sure he had heard a creak in the floorboards time was short. He looked back towards Lea.
Her eyes were wide and pained again. “Blake only hit me twice.” She said inaudibly.
Darren resisted the urge to jump up and run upstairs and knock his brother out. But he wasn’t sure. Did Blake have a gun? He had never asked him. Darren couldn’t help Lea if he were shot to death by his brother. In that case, Lea would never escape.

“Rightly Wrong or Wrongly Right”
Dean opened his door, got out, stepped to her door, opened it, and automatically offered his arm. She took it without thinking. It was only a little harder to walk in the boots than it had been to walk in high heels all night.
Once inside the Denny’s, her thoughts darken. It was so loud, with talking and the noise of silverware and plates against each other, they didn’t speak. Instead, Adara clung to Dean’s arm, wide-eyed and nervous. As they waited for a table, she wondered what Dania had done after finding her missing. She wished to know what the security tapes showed. They couldn’t come after Dean if she had walked to him of her own free will, could they?
But Dean was able to see her shift in mood. He wrapped his arms around her, putting his chin on her head. She melted into him, grateful for the contact. She knew that it would be okay with the two of them together. She could have never left the mansion alone. If she hadn’t met Dean that night, things would be different. If Dean’s theory were true, she would have been well on her way to marrying someone else by now, possibly already engaged.
Then again, if the Jody theory were correct, Dean would have been arrested, or worse. Dean was a good man. But if he hadn’t noticed the pills and given her the drink, what then? Would Dean have called the police officers, would someone else have called them? Or would he have taken her home, as he did, only this time she would have been asleep and unable to consent.
Involuntarily, she shuddered at the thought. Dean felt it and pulled away. “Are you okay?” He asked, trying to see into her eyes. She didn’t want to look, afraid he’d guess what she was thinking. “Adara?”

Not Alone
He was fifty feet away before he looked up at Kia. She knew instantly it was him. The image of him was seared into her brain. He continued coming her way but now he was watching her as he walked. Still Kia did not move. She told herself to move, do something. Do not just stand there like a moron and wait for him. But she did not move. Dixon turned and spotted the man coming towards them. His tail moved, happily. It was a person and he liked people. He did not get to meet many strangers, only getting a few walks a week. But he liked most anyone he came across.
Kia was struggling to breathe steadily as she watched him come closer. It could not really be, could it? But she knew that her memory was accurate and as he neared her suspicions were confirmed.
Brenttyn stopped about ten feet away. Dixon tugged a little in his direction. Still Kia did not dare to move. She stood there as if she had grown roots and was now part of the forest. She would not speak first. Let him speak. He was the one that had followed her. He had to be following her. She had come out for a walk, not to find him. So, let him break the silence.
“Hello, Kia.” He said, after a long moment of silence.
Kia’s heart leapt and she smiled without meaning to. He remembered her name. “Hello Brenttyn.” She forced herself to say. Though she wanted him to keep talking.
“How are you today?” He asked, shifting his weight from one foot to another.
“I’m fine. And how about you?” She said. This was her standard answer to this question. No matter how she felt or who she was talking to. But today and at this moment she was feeling fine. It was not really a lie, though often it was.
“I’m good. But are you okay?” He asked, searching her face.
“Don’t you believe me?” She asked, tilting her head.
“Do you blame me? You were not okay last night.” He said. He took a step towards her and Dixon’s tail started to wag again.
“Well, it is always like that. It is not constant. It comes and goes. Don’t you ever get to feeling sad? Like it would be better here without you?” she felt like she was talking in a dream now. She must be dreaming. That was why she had a buzzing in her ear. This was not happening. She could not be having a conversation with someone trying to explain how she felt. She wanted to punch herself, but she could not. The heavy coat was too thick. Beside he would see and wonder about it. -

The Day the Skyfel: Shadows of the Past
Sophia let her eyes follow him. “You like him.” Her brain said suddenly. “You want him to be near you and touch you.” She closed her eyes. She did not know what to say to him. She knew how awkward she had made the last day. She knew that he had every right to be angry with her. She wondered if he was. She wanted him to come back and sit by her bed. Why hadn’t he stayed near her?
Cameron moved around the room. Inside he was regretting the last day. He should have realized sooner that it was her. He should have helped her sooner as well. He should have tried to say more to her. But Cameron knew it was not his fault. And after seeing Sophia’s leg stabbed in a dream, he realized it could not be her fault either. Now that she was better, he was cleaning up the last few hours, taking empty containers and other items and putting them away. He did as much as possible and finally walked back to her bedside with some water.
“If you can drink water now.” He said holding out the water. “I can take your catheter out. Though you will have to be able to take capsule antibiotics.” The water was still in his hand.
Sophia was feeling strange. He had come back and was talking to her. She watched his lips and eyes, not listening to what he was saying. She was not feeling any worse. She was feeling warm and full of love and thankfulness. She saw the water and knew he wanted her to drink. She reached out for it with her left hand and purposefully brushed her hand against his while looking upwards at him wide-eyed.
Cameron gazed back. Up to this point, the only emotions he had gotten from Sophia, or Sam as she had called herself when she first fell through his window, was fear. Even when he had seen her at the store, she always seemed startled by him and avoided walking near him as much as possible.
This was the first time Sophia had looked at him in this way. Cameron did not understand. What did it mean? He almost jumped when she brushed his hand with hers. She had not shown an adverse reaction to the contact between them. The water bottle was low enough for Sophia to take without touching his hand. He had been holding it near the top of the bottle too. She was lying on the bed. She should have grabbed it around the bottom.
“Thank you.” She murmured in as sweet of a voice as she could muster. Her voice was weak, but the words were clear. Sophia smiled at him after saying it, her eyes still wide, maintaining contact.
He sat down in the chair by her bed. He was feeling strange, with Sophia behaving so differently towards him. He was not sure, but it felt like she liked him. She felt better towards him and grateful, judging by the thank you. But it seemed to go deeper than that.Available Now!

After the Rain
His lips touched mine, just a little kiss, like a peck. But then his lips touched mine again, and they stayed longer this time. He pulled back again, but then he touched my lips a third time, but this time I realized his tongue was there, I half gasped, half opened my mouth and his tongue was instantly inside of my mouth. I moved my hands and fingers. I inched them around his torso, running them across his skin until they were at his sides. I got my right hand around to his back.
Both his hands were on my back now, I hardly noticed what he was doing, intel one of his hands were inside the sweat shirt and he was rubbing my body through the dress. Without warning my throat let out a moan. His tongue was so warm and I was pulsating between my legs. The sound made him turn his face slightly to get a better angle on my mouth. Now his tongue was all the way inside my mouth. I groaned again. Suddenly both of his hands were under the sweatshirt and he was rubbing my entire back now, from the waist up.
I wanted him. More than anything, I wanted to lower my hands into his pants and tug at them. I allowed one hand to drop to his pants, He didn’t have a belt and I was able to slip my left hand in between his back and his pants. I moaned a third time, as a sensation close to what I had felt in the shower in the past touching myself alone hit me.
Suddenly he was talking to me in a panting voice. “Carrie, darling, I love you, can I take this off.” He was removing the sweatshirt.
I gasped a sound, it was a little like “Okay.” I moved my hands and arms out of it and felt it slip over my head. Suddenly his lips were on mine again, and I parted my lips. his tongue returned to in my mouth. I moaned, as his hand went down past my waist and caressed my ass. I was so close to him, one of my hand brushed his hard on suddenly causing him to moan in return.
He pulled away again. My heart was pounding so loudly in my ears, I barely heard him tell me he loved and wanted me. He ask me if he could take me into the bedroom. Every time I looked at him more and that I wanted him. “Okay.” I said again. I was shaking like a leaf.
He didn’t even try to stand me up. He picked me up and carried me to his bedroom. I was so numb and shaking, as he put me on the bed. He saw the shaking and took my hands in his hands. “Carrie. Darling do not be scared. If you do not want to, just tell me so.” He kissed me quickly.
“I …” My voice was shaking too. “I want to do it.” I spoke. I felt like my body would explode if he didn’t. “I want you to touch me.” -
